Ikea kitchen stolen in Larvik

The burglar has stolen a flat-packed Ikea kitchen with around 100 parts, the police write.

Crime boss in Larvik, Cathrine Lund, tells NRK that the owner was alerted by a craftsman.

– An entire kitchen from a home under construction has been stolen. Could have got in through the window. There are several tracks in the snow and the police secure prints.

Probably worth around NOK 70,000

Master builder Jørgensen & Kemkers AS is working on the site, and John Arne Kemkers confirms that a carpenter was among those who discovered the break-in early Monday morning.

– He was going into the barracks to get the key to the house and the key was gone. It appears that they used the front door, but also used the sliding door at the back of the house and carried out.

Kemkers says that there is a kitchen for a dormitory apartment, but also some wardrobes.

– There is a kitchen and wardrobe for around NOK 70,000, according to what I was told by the builder.

The Kemkers say that they have never experienced anything like this before and have been lucky with little theft from their construction sites.

– This is very special. It seems that someone is watching what is happening.
