At the Meet The Expert webinar, AMD summarized the advantages of the Ryzen 7000X3D processors, including energy efficiency. According to its own measurements for the Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor, this is up to 96% higher than that offered by the Intel Core i9-13900K – measured in CineBench R23.
Next, there was an overview table in which AMD presents which Core models compete with which Ryzens:
Of course, there are a number of caveats to this – of course, the situation will be evaluated differently by a player, differently by a person using a processor to process computing-intensive tasks, and differently by a user who somehow combines both. From the specific pairing, it can be concluded that it was evaluated through the lens of a player, or at least a user who attaches considerable importance to game performance.
Finally, there was a comparison of the platforms. The main advantages are the several-generation lifespan of the AM5 platform (up to LGA1700 with nothing beyond Raptor Lake does not count; Meteor Lake – regardless of whether the desktop version comes out or not – counts with a new socket). Furthermore, half the number of PCIe 5.0 lines and finally 2x more PCIe 5.0 lines for the GPU if the user installs PCIe 5.0 storage.
In conclusion, it should be remembered that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D mentioned in the overview has not yet been released and will be available from April 6, i.e. in about three weeks.
