These works were handed over last Friday by the Ministers of Mines, Elvis Ossindji, and National Education, Carmelia Ntoutoume Leclercq. This is a project that is part of the initiative decided by the Head of State in May 2022 for the construction of 100 boreholes across Gabonese territory and executed by the Société équatoriale des mines (SEM ).
During the commissioning of these water points, the Minister Elvis Ossindji water points wanted to underline his satisfaction to see this project wanted by Ali Bongo Ondimba come to fruition in favor of the Gabonese populations. “I am very moved by what I heard that our mother is over 90 years old come here to testify that the acts of the Head of State bear fruit”, he rejoiced. He also specified that the Société équatoriale des mines intervenes in several sectors which is justified through a presidential decree which constitutes the foundation of the Corporate Social Responsibility (RS E) of the mining sector which is oriented on 6 six main axes that are youth, women, education, health, water and electricity.
Thanks to this drilling carried out with the support of Minister Carmelia Ntoutoume Leclercq, several other neighborhoods in the town will be supplied. The Chairman of the Board of Directors Michel Mboussou did not fail to underline the satisfaction of the company which today allows thousands of Gabonese to benefit from drinking water. “By bringing water here, it is the life that we give to Gabonese. I interviewed young people to find out how they managed to get water before here. They told me I had to travel for miles, take a clando to go to the center of Ntoum. Today, there is water in the church, in the school”, he underlined. The project will continue in the coming days in the provinces of Moyen-Ogooué and Ngounie.
