In Aruba, he dismantled a gang of Venezuelans involved in extorting “prominent figures”

The Aruban justice recently carried out a search of four residences, as part of an investigation for the crime of “sextortion”, that is, sexual extortion through the Internet.

As a result, five people were captured: two native men, a man and a woman of Venezuelan nationality, and a woman of Dominican origin.

Members of the National Police, with the support of other investigative units and the Prosecutor’s Office, carried out the entry and search of the homes, where they also located a large sum of cash.

The detainees are accused of extortion, money laundering and belonging to a criminal organization.

Through the investigation carried out by the investigative unit of the National Police for a few months, it was established that the criminal organization was dedicated to extorting its victims with sexual images.

Under threat, the victims agreed to pay the money in exchange for the compromising images not being disseminated

Through digital platforms, those involved contacted their victims with whom they established online relationships to later request graphic material with erotic content. Once the recordings were received, they asked for a significant amount of money in exchange for not spreading the sexual images on social networks and disturbing their reputation.
