WhatsApp: Now there are finally 21 new emojis

Nowadays nothing works without emojis in messages on WhatsApp and Co. They are what make text messages more vivid and emotional. Although some are of the opinion that there are now too many emojis. But for others there can never be enough. And so one looks in vain for an emoji every now and then and wonders why the jellyfish or the ginger of all things don’t exist as emojis. It was already known at the end of 2021 which emojis will soon be available in WhatsApp. Of the original 37, around 20 were waved through last year and are now on WhatsApp.

After Unicode’s technical committee, i.e. the “Emoji Authority”, has reviewed and approved suggestions for new emojis, messengers like WhatsApp can now add them to their portfolio. These include a moose, a jellyfish or a head-shaking emoji, which is interpreted as “no” in most countries.

By the way: In Bulgaria, a nod of the head means “no” and a shake of the head means “yes” – exactly the opposite of what we know in this country. But one way or the other: like the well-informed WhatsApp blog Wabetainfo reported, the makers of the messenger have now started delivering the 21 new emojis. And the following emojis are included:
