Ligue 1: PSG saved by Kylian Mbappé, the Lens festival in Clermont, Nice clinging to Nantes… What to remember from the 27th day

Three days after their elimination in the knockout stages of the Champions League, PSG snatched victory from Brest thanks to Kylian Mbappé (1-2), while Lens outclassed Clermont (0-4) and Nice were hooked in Nantes (1-2). Here is what to remember from the 27th day of Ligue 1.

Lille-Lyon: 3-3

Spectacular match but without a winner. At the start of this 27th day of Ligue 1, Lille and Lyon were neutralized in the north (3-3). The Lille nevertheless led by two goals less than ten minutes from the final whistle, thanks to a hat-trick from Jonathan David (46th, 61st, 79th), but the Lyonnais, who had reduced the gap on a resumption of the right foot from Bradley Barcola (64th), snatched a point in the last moments thanks to a double from Alexandre Lacazette (83rd, 89th). With this second consecutive draw for the two clubs, Losc and OL are treading water in the race for European places.

Auxerre-Rennes: 0-0

Another missed opportunity for Rennes. A week after its loss at home against Marseille (0-1), the club trained by Bruno Genesio was hooked in Auxerre without ever managing to find the fault in Burgundy (0-0). With this poor performance, Stade Rennais remains frozen in 5th place in the standings and lost precious points in the fight for the podium before moving next week to the lawn of the Parc des Princes to face PSG. For its part, AJA has chained a 5th match without defeat (2 wins, 3 draws) and continues to grab points in the race for maintenance.

Brest-PSG: 1-2

Thank you Kylian Mbappe. Three days after the disillusionment and elimination in the knockout stages of the Champions League against Bayern Munich, PSG raised their heads in Brest thanks, once again, to their star striker (1-2). While the two teams were tied a few minutes from the final whistle, after the opener of Carlos Soler (37th) and the equalizer of Franck Honorat (44th), the Parisian number 7, left at the limit of the offside, gave the victory to his team. And with this success, the club from the capital has consolidated its lead at the top of the standings ahead of OM. Frustrated by this result, Brest, which has only one victory in its last seven games, will have to fight to save itself.

Clermont-Lens : 0-4

Lens restarts. Held in check in Montpellier (1-1) then by Lille (1-1), the Sang et Or outclassed Clermont to return to victory (0-4). And this second success in the league since the end of January bears the seal of Loïs Openda. Author of three goals in four minutes and 30 seconds, the Belgian striker scored the fastest hat-trick in the history of Ligue 1 (31st, 34th, 35th). He was also a decisive passer on the goal of Alexis Claude-Maurice (76th). With this demonstration, Lens remains in the race for the Champions League before receiving Angers. The Clermontois, they are still in the middle of the table.

Ajaccio-Montpellier: 0-1

The improvement continues in Montpellier. On the move on the lawn of AC Ajaccio, the Hérault club has chained a fourth success in five games (0-1). And the deliverance came, in the middle of the second period, from the header of Elye Wahi (68e), who victoriously took a corner from Téji Savanier to score his 10e goal of the season. With this success, Montpellier has given itself some air at the bottom of the table by distancing itself from the relegation zone. Unlike the Corsican club, always 18e and who will have to fight to the end to stay in the elite.

Angers-Toulouse : 0-2

Toulouse finds the light. On a series of three consecutive defeats, the TFC returned to success in Angers (0-2). The Toulouse took advantage of the defensive mistakes of the Angevins to open the scoring through Mikkel Desler (37e) before doubling the lead after returning from the locker room with the 10th achievement in Ligue 1 this season by Thijs Dallinga (47e), which angered local supporters. With this victory, Toulouse has overtaken Clermont in the standings and is now 11the rank, while Angers, who have not won since September 18 and who only have ten points, are heading straight to Ligue 2.

Nantes-Nice: 2-2

Nice can have regrets. The Riviera club led twice in the score, but conceded the draw in the last minutes in Nantes (2-2). Didier Digard’s men quickly took the lead with a header from Terem Moffi (5e). But Moussa Sissokho, also with a header, tied the two teams (31e). And in the process, the Nantes people missed the opportunity to lead with a penalty sent on the crossbar by Ludovic Blas (33e). The Aiglons regained the lead with a low shot from Youssouf Ndayishimiye (71e), arrived at the winter transfer window. But this goal was not enough, because Mostafa Mohamed snatched the equalizer with a header (88e). If the Gym (7e), undefeated since January 11, chained a 9th match without defeat, he still dropped two points on the way, after the draw at Auxerre (1-1), and missed the opportunity to come back to Rennes (5e) and Lille (6e). With this point, Nantes (14e) ended a three-game losing streak.

Lorient-Troyes: 2-0

Lorient provided the essentials. At home, the Merlus got the better of Troyes (2-0). They opened the scoring less than ten minutes into the game thanks to Bamba Dieng, who recovered twice to push the ball into the back of the net (9e). And lonely at the far post, Stéphane Diarra sealed Lorient’s success at the very end of the match (92e). With these three new points, Lorient remains comfortably installed in the first part of the table before going to Nice. For its part, Estac added a 10e match without a win to its negative streak (8 losses, 2 draws) and remains in penultimate place.

Monaco-Reims: 5:05 p.m.

Marseille-Strasbourg : 20h45
