Ignacio López Tarso, who passed away this Saturday afternoon at the age of 98, was one of the most recognized actors of the golden cinema era, as he made memorable films such as Macario (1960), which was also the First Mexican film nominated for the Oscars.
Throughout his career, López Tarso shared credits with different actors and actresses, although one of the most recognized figures with whom he worked was Maria Felix.
In an interview with Maxine Woodside, he revealed that, despite the fact that much was said about the character of ‘La Doña’, he was always with him. Even it was rumored about a courtship between the twosituation that Ignacio rejected.

After losing her lover, and among her intentions to seek revenge, Refugio, nicknamed ‘La Cucaracha’, commands a group of women. To her bad luck, ‘La Cucaracha’ ends up falling in love with Antonio Zeta.
Then Isabel Puente appears, a woman who joins the troop after losing her husband. It is then that a ‘fight’ for the colonel’s love begins between Isabel and Refugio.
