The West Jakarta Metro Police (Jakbar) arrested 12 teenagers who were in a convoy carrying sharp weapons on Jalan Kresek Kosambi, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. The teenagers allegedly wanted to fight.
“From the 12 teenagers, we also secured 3 sharp weapons of the sickle type, 1 corbek and 1 crossbar,” said West Jakarta Metro Police Head of Samapta, AKBP M Hari Agung Julianto in a written statement, Sunday (12/3/2023) .
Hari Agung said the incident started when the police conducted a patrol around 04.00 WIB this morning. Then, the police encountered teenagers who were on a convoy.
Police then conducted a search of dozens of teenagers. As a result, the teenager was caught carrying a sharp weapon that was allegedly intended to be used for a brawl.
“During the inspection we found 3 sharp weapons of the sickle type, 1 corbek and 1 crossbar allegedly used to carry out brawls,” he said.
Currently, the teenagers who are still students are taken to the Cengkareng Police. “In order to further investigate the students, we will hand over the evidence of the type of sharp weapon to the Cengkareng Police,” he said.
Agung appealed to the public if they encounter any acts of brawl or other crimes to report to the call center at +62 819-3238-3442.
