A march for Bulgaria without bases and tomahawks is taking place in Sofia

About 150 protesting citizens gathered in a march under the slogan “Bulgaria – Zone of Peace” in front of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in Sofia.

Many Bulgarian flags can be seen, as well as the Samara flag. Some of the protest posters read:

  • “Bulgaria for the Bulgarians – not for NATO and the EU”
  • “No Bulgarian boys in the slaughterhouse!”
  • “Eastern Front again!!! – they will pass without us…”

The official start of the procession was at 2:00 p.m., and it was announced that it would be held in cities other than Sofia. Varna, Ruse, Stara Zagora, Silistra, Shumen, Targovishte.

The organizers of the protest are “Bulgarian National Council for Peace”, “Free and Peaceful Bulgaria”, NSS “St. George the Victorious” and citizens, with the support of the MIR party. They declare themselves against the involvement of Bulgaria in military actions.

“Bulgaria does not give up its sons! Bulgaria is a zone of peace, it does not participate in any war with people, weapons, sanctions, ammunition or spare parts! Bulgaria wants peace between our fraternal nations and, first of all, an end to escalation of the war. Bulgarian land is a platform for peace negotiations, not missiles! Bulgarians are peacemakers, not cannon fodder,” reads the organizers’ press release sent to the media.

It is also planned automobile All-Bulgarian relay march with route Varna – Shumen – Targovishte – V. Tarnovo – St. Zagora – Plovdiv – Sofia. It is expected to end at 3:30 p.m. today in front of the Presidency.
