Al-Akhbar (Nouakchott) – 220 judges, out of 221 who voted in the elections of the Mauritanian Judges’ Club, chose the candidates of the “reconciliation list” as new members of the club’s bodies.
And the Central Committee supervising the renewal of the club’s bodies announced in the minutes of its results announced this evening that the Al-Wefaq list won the National Council and the Executive Office of the club.
And in the elections organized today in the four appeals circuits in the country, the winning list ran alone, and it won 99.54% of the vote, while a single neutral vote was recorded, and the null votes were absent.
The winning list was chosen for the presidency of the club’s council, Judge Salek Ould Ahmadou Salem, and for the club’s general secretariat, Judge Moulay Ely Moulay Ely.
The minutes issued by the central committee supervising the elections were signed by its president, Judge Muhammad Abdullah Al-Amin Fal, and its two members, Judges Muhammad Saeed Muhammad Al-Hassan and Ibrahim Sayed Al-Mukhtar.
The former Secretary-General of the club, Judge Omar Al-Salik bin Sheikh Sidi Mohamed, had apologized for running for a second commission as president of the club, stressing – in a media statement today – “his confidence in the new office that the elections will result in, and in his ability to serve judges and justice in the country in general.” .
