At the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, a boxing evening from the promotional company No Limit Boxing ended, which led the fight for the interim WBO super middleweight title between undefeated local fighter Tim Tszyu and American Tony Harrison.
The boxers spent the starting round studying each other. Harrison maneuvered a lot, and Tszyu tried to shoot. At the end of the three-minute period, the Australian caught the opponent with an accented blow towards him.
Tim seized the initiative by pinning Harrison against the ropes and regularly hitting right. In the third round, Tszyu shocked Harrison and immediately rushed to finish off. The American hardly defended himself – fortunately, there was not much time left until the end of the round. After the break, Tszyu continued to drive Harrison to the ropes. Tim easily bypassed the opponent’s defense, threw out series, alternated floors.
At the equator of the fight, Tszyu slowed down, but Harrison began to work more confidently. At the beginning of the eighth round, Tim delivered a series of three blows, but Harrison immediately snapped. In this three-minute period, Tszyu decided to focus on working in the clinch.
Despite the fact that Harrison spent the second half much better than the first, Tszyu finished him in the ninth round. The American blundered the attack, after which Tim began to throw him with a series of uppercuts and side kicks. Tony fell to the canvas, barely got to his feet, but the referee, assessing his condition, gave the go-ahead.
