Corinthians continues to work hard in the medical department to recover injured athletes in time for important games, such as the quarterfinals and other knockout stages of the Campeonato Paulista. This Saturday, then, physiotherapist Bruno Mazziotti updated Renato Augusto’s painting.
The midfielder was injured last Saturday, still in the first stage of the Corinthians victory against Santo André, in the last round of the initial phase of the state. Image exams then detected stretching in the medial collateral ligament of the player’s right knee.
“Renato had a medial collateral strain in the last game. We were cautious and careful to drive in the best possible way, despite the fact that we are in the finals of the championship, which is important. So we are in a very calm situation due to our needs, the cast is almost all available and that makes decision-making much easier”, said Mazziotti at the CT bulletin.
Soon afterwards, Bruno Mazziotti spoke about deadlines. The Corinthian physiotherapist stated that the recovery process is constantly evolving, which consequently enables the acceleration of the next steps on the pitch.
“The evolution of this injury was very important during this week, it allowed us to work a lot, intensively inside the academy and logically the next steps will be advanced in terms of work on the field. Renato evolved well, according to the possibility of recovery from this injury and we hope that in the next few days the news will be more positive than today”, concluded the professional.
With Renato Augusto out of the list for the Paulistão quarterfinals, Corinthians is back on the pitch this Sunday. At 4 pm, Fernando Lázaro’s men face Ituano, indoors, at Neo Química Arena, qualifying for the semifinal of the competition.
