Thursday, March 9, a blood drive in the village hall was organized by the French Blood Establishment of Tarbes (EFS).
The number of donors having made an appointment has increased to twenty-eight people.
Last December, 68 people were presented for 63 sampled. For this collection, they were 77 to present themselves for 74 collected.
The two doctors present were Thierry Thomas and Thomas Lavoine. As for the nurses, they were three in number. The drivers and attendants were named Adrien and Paul.
As on every organized day, there was a warm atmosphere in the village hall. Two volunteers were present, Evelyne and Gisèle. They served the small meal tray given to each donor.
Evelyne Rimailho thanks all the volunteers who got involved. A big thank you also to all the staff of the EFS.
The next collection in Montréjeau will be held on Wednesday May 24, same location, from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Only 4% of the French population gives blood !
The French Blood Establishment (EFS) is asking donors to mobilize massively and come and donate their blood,
It is important that the mobilization continues. Patients still need transfusions. It’s essential !
Blood donation is a simple and generous gesture that only 4% of the population performs each year. Emergency aid, surgical operations, blood diseases, cancers… Blood product requirements are daily.
