Everyone wondered how the players would react after the recent events at the club. And I must admit that the beginning of the match in Kalisz was very nervous. Already in the 15th second, Łukasz Budziłek mishandled the ball, because for a corner kick. After the center from the corner of the pitch in the sixteen visitors it got hot. In a moment, Piotr Giel hit the post right next to the post, and Budziłek had a lot of luck after the striker’s attack.
The first dozen or so minutes is the total domination of KKS. The locals quickly received the ball, ran a lot, went into position and could play the ball nicely. The motor had a problem to cobble together any action in the offensive. In the 16th minute, Nikodem Zawistowski got the ball into the penalty area and decided to take a volley shot, but it crashed over the goal.
Slowly, however, the visitors began to wake up. They survived a difficult beginning and finally showed that they can be dangerous. Michał Król appeared on the left wing of the yellow-white-blue team. In the 22nd minute, Piotr Ceglarz was blocked and the match was more and more even. In the 31st minute, Giel showed up again, who hit the post from a sharp angle, but Budziłek guarded the short corner, so there would be no goal anyway.
It should have been 0-1 in the 36th minute. Kacper Wełniak won the duel shoulder to shoulder with the defender, but somehow his shot was deflected by the rivals’ goalkeeper. 120 seconds later Maciej Krakowiak was helpless. Michał Król took the ball from Mateusz Gawlik and it was he who initiated the action, which ended with a center from the right wing and a well-placed header by Wełniak. Effect? Goncalo Feio’s players took one advance goal at the break.
Immediately after the change of sides, the hosts started to attack again. It took 25 seconds to play and Nestor Gordillo had a good chance. The rivals left him a lot of space in front of the penalty area, but the Spaniard shot over the crossbar. After a while, Gordillo gave a great pass to Michał Borecki, who had already run around Budziłek and hit the seemingly empty goal, but Filip Wójcik was very good at defending his goalkeeper, who deflected the ball with his head for a corner kick.
After a while, the first shot of the guests was blocked, and in response Adrian Łuszkiewicz ran several dozen meters from the ball. When he was close to sixteen, he was finally stopped. 120 seconds later, Mariusz Rybicki, who had no idea what to do with the ball, disastrously solved the counterattack of the team from Lublin. The game calmed down a bit in the next few minutes. There was a rally of Piotr Ceglarz, stopped only in the sixteenth of KKS, and in the 64th minute two corner kicks for the visitors, after which it also got hot.
In the 67th minute, coach Feio’s team returned from a long journey. After a free kick Kasjan Lipkowski took over the ball on the fifth meter and in the thicket of legs he hit straight at Budziłek. It should be 1:1. A quarter of an hour later, Jakub Wilczyński ran in front of Wójcik on the left wing and shot from a sharp angle, but the visitors’ goalkeeper was at the post. In the end, the Lubliners saved themselves many times by knocking the ball “for release”, but they did not allow the rivals to develop a clear opportunity. And in the end they brought a modest victory to the final whistle. This is the third win this year, in the third league game.
