The owner of several dogs in Texas has been arrested after five of his pit bulls attacked and mauled one of his neighbors last month.

The subject identified as 31-year-old Eric Moten was charged Wednesday with felony attack by a dog resulting in grievous bodily injury, Fox News reported.

The suspect was booked into the Tarrant County Jail, whose bond was set at $10,000, and he faces fines of the same amount. If convicted, he could receive up to 10 years in jail.

The victim, Terrence Marshall, 49, told Fox 4 Dallas he was checking the weather when Moten’s five dogs attacked him outside his Arlington apartment.

According to reports, the pitbulls bit his arms, nose, head, legs and feet. His right eye had previously been damaged in a similar accident.

The victim told police that Moten took the dogs off her, but clarified that he later returned to her apartment and did not provide any help. He currently needs 79 stitches, despite suffering several bite injuries.

“This (is) just a small hurdle I have to overcome”, Marshall declared to the aforementioned medium. “I’m not going to let anything like this stop me because I’m going to fight.”

Meanwhile, the dogs’ owner’s neighbors claimed the pit bulls were always in the yard unprotected, according to court documents.

It has not been the first incident in which Moten’s dogs have been involved. Last December, another person was attacked by his dogs, but the extent of the injury was not clear.

In that incident, Moten was cited for reckless damage earlier that month for leaving his dogs in a vacant apartment building.
