Description of the offer

Missions

In the context of WHO/UNICEF Joint Program activities, the incumbent will coordinate and be responsible for overseeing Joint Program activities.

  • Deliverable 1: Prepare and Facilitate the implementation of the UNICEF-WHO Joint Program on Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Psychosocial Development and other mental health activities in the country.
    • Activity 1.1: Provide technical advice and facilitate the development and implementation of UNICEF WHO Joint Program work plans in Côte d’Ivoire and produce monthly reports.
    • Activity 1.2: Prepare a technical document/assessment of the situation of mental health services for children (including ECD) and adolescents in Côte d’Ivoire, including successes and challenges and present some case studies
    • Activity 1.3: Provide technical advice and build capacity of the National Mental Health Program and other stakeholders and facilitate the development of work plans and the strengthening of policies (the review of the National Strategic Plan), services and programs for child (including ECD) and adolescent mental health in the country.
    • Activity 1.4: Facilitate the adaptation, dissemination and adoption of WHO normative guidelines and tools for CAMH to all partners. (From the first trimester)
    • Activity 1.5: Organize a national meeting on child (including ECD) and adolescent mental health. Before the end of the first semester
  • Deliverable 2: Technical assistance for advocacy and resource mobilization for child and adolescent mental health.
    • Activity 2.1 Write stories and examples of good practice on child (including ECD) and adolescent mental health interventions and services and facilitate dissemination through regular channels (Monthly, Quarterly and Annually)
    • Activity 2.2 Draft advocacy materials and PPT slides for child (including ECD) and adolescent mental health dissemination activities (Monthly, Quarterly and Annually).
    • Activity 2.3 Write grant applications and other proposals targeting a range of donors. Minimum two (02) requests.
  • Deliverable 3: Facilitate communication with project stakeholders (WHO HQ, AFRO and Country Office, UNICEF Office, National Mental Health Program PNSM) for the implementation of the work plan.
    • Activity 3.1: Prepare and participate in weekly meetings with Project Focal Point at AFRO and share minutes
    • Activity 3.2: Organize monthly follow-up meetings with UNICEF office focal points for the Joint Programme.
    • Activity 3.3: Participate in other coordination meetings related to child and adolescent mental health.
Required profile
Education / Qualification
  • Essential: Advanced university degree (Masters level and above) in public health/medicine/paediatrics, clinical psychology, global mental health
  • Desirable: Postgraduate degree related to children’s mental health
Experience
  • Essential: Have a minimum of two (02) years of relevant and progressive experience in managing a child and adolescent mental health program from a public health perspective
  • Desirable: Experience working in a similar position with the UNS or other organizations/NGOs at the national level would be an asset
  • Functional Skills And Knowledge
  • Excellent writing skills in French required;
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet, etc.);
  • Managerial skills, coordination and effective team management;
  • Have a sense of accountability;
  • Good presentation and reporting skills.
