Acting Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said that the first batch of Leopard 1s under the Danish-German-Dutch project for the transfer of tanks will be sent to Ukraine during the spring.
He made this statement following a visit to the German company Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (FFG), which is preparing Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine.
“I am very glad that I visited FFG. I was there to make sure the work on preparing the Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine was progressing so that we could get them up and running as soon as possible. I am proud that Denmark, in cooperation with other countries, supports the Ukrainian struggle for freedom and we hope that we will be able to deliver the first tanks to Ukraine during the spring,” Poulsen said.

The Danish Ministry of Defense recalled that with the broad support of the Danish Parliament, the government began cooperation with Germany and the Netherlands to transfer at least 100 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine.
“Denmark began a project to modernize a large number of Leopard 1A5 tanks together with the Netherlands and Germany in early February. The first stage of the project is the early delivery of tanks for two battalions – equivalent to about 80 tanks – in the shortest possible time.
