East of Bakhmut in the grip of “Wagner”… and the Bakhmutka River as a “confrontation line”

Over the past four days, the “Wagner” group’s forces have taken control of most of the eastern part of the city of Bakhmut, British intelligence said, adding that in the center of the city the Bakhmutka River now represents the front line.

It added: Ukrainian forces control the west of the town and have demolished the main bridges over the river, which runs from north to south through a strip of open land 200 to 800 meters wide between built-up areas.

And she pointed out that with the ability of the Ukrainian units to fire from the fortified buildings to the west, this area has become a killing zone, which likely makes it a great challenge for the “Wagner” forces that are trying to continue their frontal attack westward.

British intelligence concluded by saying: Nevertheless, the Ukrainian force and its supply lines to the west remain vulnerable to continued Russian attempts to outflank the defenders from the north and south.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said that during the past 24 hours, Russian forces launched 29 air strikes and 4 missile strikes on the Donetsk region, which led to heavy losses in infrastructure and injuries among civilians.

And she added: The Ukrainian army forces repelled more than 100 attacks by the Russian forces in an attempt to advance in the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk in the direction of Liman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marin and Shakhtar.

And the ministry continued: Russian forces launch continuous attacks on the city of Bakhmut without stopping, noting that the Ukrainian Air Force carried out 11 air raids on the areas of concentration of Russian forces, and succeeded in targeting weapons depots and missile storage places.
