The Director of Information Technology at Microsoft Germany (Andreas Braun) announced that the company intends, during the next week, to launch the new generation of the GPT-4 artificial intelligence model, which is the improved version of the GPT-3.5 model on which the famous ChatGPT chatbot was built.
The announcement came during a conference on artificial intelligence technologies held by the company in Germany, according to the German Heise website.
And the site quoted (Brown) as saying: “We will unveil GPT-4 next week, and we will have multiple models that offer completely different capabilities, including video, for example.” He added that the new version has become more advanced in terms of its support for all languages, and said that the user will be able, for example, to ask a question in German and get an answer in Italian. He added that the multiplicity of models would make the technology “more comprehensive.”
It is reported that GPT models for artificial intelligence are mainly developed by OpenAI, but Microsoft invested $ 10 billion in the startup in exchange for the right to modify the company’s models for use in its products, which the company did last month when it announced the integration of its own improved version of ChatGPT Bing engine. The company called its model Prometheus and said it was superior to traditional ChatGPT service.
OpenAI had previously revealed its development of the GPT-4 model, which will be stronger and faster than GPT-3.5, but it did not reveal many technical details related to it, nor did it reveal its launch date, except that previous reports had reported that it was expected to be revealed within current year.
