Seminar on legal basics for association boards

Every year, numerous board and managerial elections are held in almost 1,600 clubs and voluntary organizations in the district. The district’s volunteer agency supports this commitment and offers appropriate further training. The seminar Legal Basics for Association Boards is particularly helpful for newly elected or future board members. Lawyer Markus Laymann, who is also an honorary member of the board, provides information on how to regulate various tasks from a legal point of view and thus make volunteering easier. Topics from association law as well as tax, insurance and liability issues are addressed. The focus is also placed on regulations on external and internal liability of the association’s board of directors. “A topic that sounds more dramatic than it is,” says Laymann. Topics such as powers when representing an association, insolvency law, reimbursement of expenses and payments to board members are also dealt with.

It is important to the Volunteer Officer of the district of Florian Seestaller that committed executives receive advice and information for their voluntary work and that there are offers like this seminar. For Markus Laymann, working as a board member is feasible if you know the general conditions and take organizational precautions. As he says himself: “Overall, the office of a board member is an exciting and solvable activity.”

The event will take place on Saturday, March 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Forum Chiemgau, Stadtplatz 32 in Traunstein (seminar room on the 2nd floor). Access is via the entrance in the Fuchsgrube on the back of the building. Further information can be found in the event calendar of the district office in Traunstein.

The number of participants is limited. Registration is required with the head of the volunteer agency in Traunstein, Florian Seestaller, on 0861/58-235 or by email volunteer agencytraunstein [dot] bayern.
