They kidnap a Cuban in Mexico

A Cuban woman was kidnapped in Mexico by armed men, in order to ask for money for her ransom. The event happened in the Mexican capital, at a bus station in the north of the city, while the woman was waiting to travel to Guanajuato.

Four individuals forced the 40-year-old Cuban woman to get into a gray van. Then she was held for three days in various houses, according to a report half local.

In that period of time, the kidnappers made several calls to the woman’s family, to demand a ransom for her release.

About to expire the term for the delivery of the money, she was suddenly released by her captors in a remote place in the municipality of Nopaltepec, in the Valley of Mexico.

Local authorities specified that the victim was found this Wednesday while walking disoriented through a field of crops. There she was seen by a resident, who notified the Public Security officers.

The kidnapped woman reported that she was released half an hour before the deadline for payment of the ransom expired.

The head of the Nopaltepec Municipal Police said that the migrant recounted what happened, and asked for a telephone number to communicate with her husband, who lives in the United States. In the conversation with him, she told him not to make her deposit, since she had already been released.

The causes that led the criminals to release the Cuban woman have not been determined. He reported that law enforcement officers provided him with food and water, since he had not eaten in several hours.

The victim is from the province of Pinar del Río, and was going to the state of Guanajuato when she was kidnapped. She is currently in the custody of the Migration Institute in Mexico City.
