Symphonic Gamer: OFECh gets applause with video game themes

The concert “Symphonic Gamer” was carried out successfully and completely by the Chihuahua State Philharmonic Orchestra (OFECh), choir and soloists, where songs from various games were performed such as: “Super Mario Bross Medley”, ” Super Mario 64: Symphonic Suite”, “Pokémon Medley”, “Halo Trilogy Medey”, “Zelda”, “Megaman”, “Luigi’s Mansion”, among others.

It should be noted that characters alluding to the games were present, likewise, there was a screen where images could be viewed in reference to each theme that the OFECh interpreted, an event that was under the direction of Alejandro Rico, where almost 100 people were part of this musical project that was part of the cycle of shows that the Philharmonic Association is carrying out with the aim of raising funds in support of the members of the orchestra.

El programa se desarrolló con las siguientes melodías: Classic Video Games Medley, Gerudo Valley, Halo Trilogy Medley, Kirby’s 20th, Anniversary Medley, Liberi fatali, Luigui’s Mansion, Megaman Medley, One Winged Ange, Pokemon Medley, Super Mario 64 Symphonic Suite, Lifelight, Super Mario Bros Medley, The Leyend of Zelda 25th Anniversary, y Donkey Kong Country Symphonic Suite.

María Eugenia Luque de Almeida, explains what the music of video games is like this show: “We could say that the music is treated so that the player can fully receive the imaginary world created and feel its vibrations together with the colors and movements of the characters through the stages they go through. The musician designs the harmonies, rhythms, and shapes to blend in with the psychological environment that the game itself recreates.

Iván del Prado was the artistic and musical director; in the first violins were: Virna Pacheco Concertino, Horacio Macías, María Valentinova, Julio Martínez, Osvaldo Loaiza, Karla Briones, and Claudia Rico; also, in second violins: Armine Onikovna, principal; Gil Ruiz, Christian Estrada, Claudia Serna, Marco Peña, Claudia López de Lara, Elsa Chávez.

Violas: Alejandro Rico, principal; Abner Macias, Mauricio Rojas, Tanya Arellano, Araceli Garcia, Victor Vega, and Brenda Cano. Cellos: Lester Monier, principal; Abraham Jurado, Mary Luz Estevané, Luis Enrique Flores, Flor Navárez. Double basses: Jesús Matus, principal; Victor Carrera, Galia Mireles Jose Aparicio, Erick Rosales.

Flutes: Andrik Arias, principal, Claudia Valencia, María Lozada. Oboe: Samuel Abrahamyan, principal; Rosana Salgado, Fernando Lerma. Clarinets: Israel González, principal, Évelyn Briones, Daniela López. Bassoons: Alberto Caldera, principal; and Angelica Barroso.
