With the hangover of International Women’s Day still present, we focus our gaze on a weekend that brings under its arm the expected 95th Oscar Awards ceremony, so to regain strength and hold out until so many awake at dawn from Sunday to Monday we suggest a visit to the cinema to enjoy some of the premieres that we receive this Friday, March 10. Let’s go over them.
The premieres of March 10, 2023
‘Scream VI’ (2023)
- As its title suggests, it is a direct continuation of the fifth ‘Scream’, which was released just a year ago in the form of a sequel —halfway between a reboot and a sequel.
- The Radio Silence collective made up of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett repeats the direction.
- Its cast is made up of Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Courteney Cox —the great veteran of the saga— and a Hayden Panettiere who brings us back to the great star of ‘Scream 4’.
- On this occasion, Ghostface takes a tour of the Big Apple following in the footsteps of Jason Voorhees in ‘Friday the 13th: Part VIII’.
Criticism in Espinof: ‘Scream VI’ is better than its predecessor: a fun whodunit that doesn’t add much to the saga but is full of twists and love for its characters
‘Mari(two)’ (2023)
- It is the new feature film by Lucía Alemany, who debuted in 2019 with ‘La inocencia’.
- It stars Paco León, Ernesto Alterio, Celia Freijeiro and Raúl Cimas, among others.
- Its premise revolves around two men who discover that they have been married to the same woman, who have led parallel lives for years.
- As Randy tells us in his review, it is enriched by enough surprises to distance itself from the usual homeland studio comedies.
Criticism in Espinof: ‘Mari(dos)’ is not what I expected at all: an intelligent deconstruction of toxic masculinity with a script full of surprises
‘Sick of Myself’ (2022)
- It is the new film by Kristoffer Borgli, responsible for ‘Drib’ and that this 2023 has directed Nicolas Cage and Michael Cera in ‘Dream Scenario’.
- The film proposes an exploration of a couple with a toxic relationship with a very black humor and a very Nordic bad mood.
- Its cast is led by Kristine Kujath Thorp, Eirik Sæther and Fanny Vaager.
- It arrives in our cinemas after having received a more than remarkable reception in the last edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
