Folklore expert Liao Dayi reminds that the offerings for birthday celebrations should not be too many, and must be worshiped with kindness and sincerity. In addition, he also reminded those who want to seek wealth or businessmen There is a “key taboo”, absolutely not wearing a thing to worship.
Liao Dayi said that Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has three birthdays, which are February 19th in the lunar calendar, attaining enlightenment on June 19th, and becoming a monk on September 19th. Among them, February 19th in the lunar calendar is the birthday, which is the most suitable for birthday celebrations. Since Guanyin Bodhisattva is a disciple of Buddhism, he reminded that the offerings to Guanyin Bodhisattva only need fruits and clear tea. If you want auspiciousness, you can also prepare bananas, plums, and pears. In addition, there are also taboos in the preparation of offerings. You must not worship tomatoes, guavas, or Sakyamuni, because tomato guavas have seeds and will leave the human body through excretion; Sakyamuni is too like the head of Buddha, so it is impolite to worship.
Finally, Liao Dayi also reminded businessmen and financial seekers that apart from being sincere in worshiping Guanyin Bodhisattva, they should never wear “Buddha beads” into the temple to worship, even putting them in bags is not suitable. This is because the Buddha beads symbolize “the four elements are empty and the six roots are pure”. Wearing them means that you want to practice. If you wear them, you may make your four elements empty and all worldly wishes will not come true.
