According to the police, the 37-year-old himself dialed the emergency number early Monday morning and said that he had killed his grandmother. The officers found the lifeless woman in the apartment. The hundred-year-old died as a result of considerable violence.

On Wednesday, the public prosecutor’s office announced further details in response to questions from the media. According to the preliminary autopsy result, it can be assumed that the 100-year-old died of a severed spinal cord in the neck area – caused by sharp and blunt force. The suspected crime tool was an ax found at the crime scene, said senior prosecutor Liddy Oechtering.
