Today, at the headquarters of the Bistrita Penitentiary, he will travel a mobile unit made up of doctors, assistants and volunteers from the Regional Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology “Octavian Fodor” Cluj-Napoca, in order to carry out a campaign to detect of viral hepatitis B and C among persons deprived of their liberty, as well as the unit’s staff.
The activity is carried out on the basis of the collaboration protocol concluded between the Bucharest Emergency University Hospital and the National Penitentiary Administration.
The conclusion of this protocol means joining efforts in order to design and carry out a medical and educational intervention, which will lead to the reduction of medical and social risks, to a better knowledge, as close as possible to reality, of the state of health of persons deprived of liberty and to the staff employed.
