Jakarta –
Biogas is now the official fuel in Indonesia. This was marked by the launching of permits for biogas as another fuel.
Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dadan Kusdiana, explained that so far biogas has only been used for electricity.
“We are increasing the use of biogas, which so far has only been thought of as electricity. We will add it so that it can be used as fuel at the consumer level,” he said in the Biogas Licensing Launch which was broadcast on YouTube by the Directorate General of EBTKE, Thursday (9/3/2023).
Dadan said that now his party has opened up options for biogas business so that later the public or consumers can get fuel services that are different from what they have used so far.
“For example using LPG, this can be replaced later, or vehicles that have been using diesel fuel can legally and legally use this later,” he said.
He added, if later someone sells or utilizes biogas, then there is no element of violating the rules. Dadan added, biogas is now a fuel that can be traded.
“Now we are able to ensure that this process is a legal process in our country. So if someone sells it, someone does trade administration, does business, uses it, there are no elements of violating the rules,” he said.
“So from now on, this is a fuel that can legally and legally be traded throughout the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
