Story: Sisters Sam (Melissa Barrera, 32) and Tara (“Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega, 20) narrowly escaped the murders in their home town of Woodsboro. Now they’ve moved to New York to leave all the madness behind. But even there they don’t have peace from the Ghostface killer…
Changing the scene offers interesting new possibilities. On the other hand, some of the charm of the early films is lost. In a small town, everyone knows each other. In New York, anyone out of millions could be a killer or a victim. That makes the whole thing a bit arbitrary. Nevertheless, the many twists and kills are again fast-paced and implemented with a wink and love for the details of the previous story.
Conclusion: Lots of gory horror action and clever surprises – just the way the fans love it. The seventh part is welcome.
