The journey begins in a field in La Neuville-sur-Oudeuil (Oise) near Beauvais. It is here, on her 3.5 hectare farm, Bio Gardin, that Marie Ortegat grows cabbage, leeks, potatoes, lettuce, parsnips… and carrots. “I harvest root vegetables in the fall then I store them to deliver them to my customers throughout the winter season,” explains the 36-year-old market gardener, who has been on a family farm plot for eleven years.
