The power plant of the new model will combine a V12 gasoline engine and three electric motors.
Lamborghini has revealed information about the model that will replace the Aventador. For now, it is known by the factory name LB744 and is called HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle). The high-performance model is equipped with a hybrid unit that combines an 825 hp naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine, two electric motors mounted on the front axle and one e-motor integrated into a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that replaces the 7-speed gearbox used in the Aventador. The total power of the system is 1015 hp.
The set also includes a 3.8 kwh battery built into the transmission tunnel. It can be charged in half an hour at a normal electrical network, in just six minutes while driving. The new model can also drive in full electric mode with the help of the two front electric motors, while the rear one, which also performs the function of starter-generator, is connected when additional power is needed.
When creating the superhybrid structure, the manufacturer tried to reduce the impact on the environment. It seems to have worked, because according to their own information, the new model emits 30 percent less carbon dioxide than the Aventador Ultimae.
Regarding the name of the LB744, rumors have been heard that it will be launched on the market under the name Tormenta (storm in Spanish), but the price could be around 400,000 euros.
