The outpouring that began with the Asbury Awakening is reaching more young people as it marches to college campuses, churches, and both Christian and secular youth events, literally from one end of the country to the other.

As CBN News has reported, what some have referred to as a potential new great awakening within Christian history began as a spark on the Asbury University campus, where thousands of Christians gathered for two weeks of worship, prayer and repentance led by the Spirit. That unplanned outpouring is raising hopes because an earlier revival in 1970 on the Asbury campus was seen as a major driver behind the Jesus Movement of the 1970s.

Paul Worcester, national collegiate director of the North American Mission Board for the Southern Baptist Convention, tweeted a video clip of a Sunday night meeting, writing that “God showed up” on Oahu, Hawaii’s north shore.

“God appeared in a mighty way at the Young Adult night on the North Shore of Oahu last night! 12 indicated decisions to repent and trust Christ and many others made decisions to surrender and seek personal revival! They even extended the meeting because how God was moving,” Worcester wrote.

Meanwhile, 3,745 miles away in Norman, Oklahoma, the Holy Spirit is moving and a great opportunity for revival is coming to the campus of the University of Oklahoma.

In a recent Facebook post, evangelist Nick Hall reported that his ministry Pulse “has reserved the 86,000-seat football stadium at the University of Oklahoma for the largest student-run outreach I’ve ever heard of.”

Hall reminded his followers that God is faithful. “If he can use this broke, broken kid from North Dakota, with no connections, he can use you!” he wrote. “He is moving today. Revival is in the air. Raise your sails and let him carry you.”

Meanwhile, word of the Asbury Awakening continues to spread and has reached as far as Maine.

Greg Gordon, the founder of SermonIndex.net, has been tweeting photos and clips from various parts of the country. On Monday, he wrote that he had met an Amish man in Maine who had heard of the Asbury Revival.

“Talking to an Amish man in Maine today. He knew about the Asbury revival! He said the revival is about repentance. I said, ‘Amen.’
The fame of the revival is spreading. Even the Amish know it! God spread it further”

During a telephone interview with Fox News On Monday, California pastor Samuel Rodriguez said it’s no coincidence that Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, hosted a Christian revival with thousands of people just as the movie Jesus Revolution hit theaters.

“If you were a skeptic,” said Rodriguez, senior pastor at New Season Church in Sacramento, “you would label this a coincidence. But if you’re a person of faith, you see it as divine providence. It may not be a coincidence.”

He added: “God is in charge. God is up to something. And that’s the big news.”

Rodriguez told Fox that it’s not just about Asbury’s renaissance. “It’s what’s happening across the country,” he said.
