Ministry of Labor: PNRR is not blocked because of pensions, but because of other unfulfilled milestones / The second payment request from PNRR has not yet been approved

The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity, Cristian Vasilcoiu, states, on Tuesday evening, that the second request for payment from the PNRR is not yet approved due to unfulfilled milestones, one from the Ministry of Energy, another from the Ministry of Justice, reports news.ro . Both nominated ministries are occupied by PNL representatives.

“I’m tired of propaganda: at the moment, Romania has not approved payment request number 2 from the PNRR, because the milestones regarding decarbonization (Ministry of Energy) and the integrity whistleblower (Ministry of Justice) have not been met”, he wrote, Tuesday evening, on Facebook, Cristian Vasilcoiu, according to news.ro

The Ministry of Energy is headed by Virgil Popescu, and the Ministry of Justice by Cătălin Predoiu, both from the PNL.

Vasilcoiu states that the pensions are numbers 3 and 4 in the payment requests.

“It means that they will not be analyzed until Romania meets the criteria from payment request number 2! What are we discussing here?! Just propaganda! PNRR is blocked not because of pensions, but because of other milestones”, Vasilcoiu also wrote.

The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Marcel Boloş, stated on Tuesday that milestone 215 of the PNRR says two essential things for special pensions, the first condition being sustainability, and the second condition being related to contribution. “In the situation where we do not reach a solution with the European Commission, there is the mechanism of partial payments and here it can certainly cost us a lot, amounts of the order of hundreds of millions of euros if we do not reach the validation of this milestone in the relationship with the European Commission”, he he added, reports news/.ro
