At the meeting of the Economic Committee, the technical specifications and tender conditions were approved for the supply of an emergency boat that will serve the Island Community.
An amount of 90,000 euros is available for the supply, as two previous tenders with a budget of 70,000 were unsuccessful.
The Deputy Mayor of Finance Fotis Vavvas in his introduction emphasized that the procurement of the boat was a political commitment to the residents of the Island.
As he mentioned, the boat will have all the infrastructure for the transport of patients as well as the possibility of fire fighting. It will be included in the operational plan of EKAB as well as Civil Protection, while it will be handled in consultation with the Community and the residents of the Island.
