BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) — China’s merchandise exports rose 0.9 percent year on year in the first two months of this year to 3.5 trillion yuan (about 506.10 billion U.S. dollars), setting a new record, official data showed Tuesday. .
The country’s foreign trade of goods fell 0.8 percent year on year to 6.18 trillion yuan over the period, according to the General Administration of Customs.
China’s imports of goods reached 2.68 trillion yuan in the same period, down 2.9 percent from the same period last year.
