Sport changed my life: Natalia Botello

Tijuana.- Natalia Botello’s talent in fencing has catapulted her to sporting successes, such as being awarded the National Sports Award, winning a gold medal in the Pan American Youth Championship or participating in the Youth Olympic Games.

Now, thanks to sports, it will give him the opportunity to study for a career at Ohio State University.

“Sports came to change my life,” said the Tijuana native. “It opened so many doors for me that I never imagined having,” she added.

In August he begins his university adventure. He will study communication with the support of his sports scholarship in fencing. “I know that without the sport I would not have achieved this. I’m enjoying it and I know more things are coming.”

Botello has had to modify some aspects of his training and preparation for the National Championship in Puebla. In this contest, the team that will attend the Central American and Pan American Games will be defined.

The coach who has accompanied her since she began her fencing career, Alain Tandron, underwent an emergency operation and has not been able to accompany the Tijuana native in her preparation, however, Natalia Botello continues to work at the facilities of the Center for High Performance (CAR) of Tijuana.
