BNN Warning to Foreign Tourists in Bali: Don’t Use and Circulate Drugs

Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) General Commissioner Petrus Reinhard Golose gave a stern warning to foreigner tourist who wears and or distributes drugs in Bali. Especially if drugs are used and or distributed while on vacation.

“You may vacation in Bali, but you may not use narcotics, let alone distribute narcotics,” Golose said detikBaliTuesday (7/3/2023).

The former Bali Police Chief emphasized that narcotics are transnational organized crime or organized international crime. Drugs are prepared in certain countries and then distributed or executed in other countries.

“(Drugs) are prepared in other countries, circulated in other places. Planned in other places, executed in other places, made to be produced in other places,” explained the three-star police general.

Golose gave an example of the entry of methamphetamine-type narcotics into Indonesia from three countries called The Golden Triangle and The Golden Crescent. The golden triangle is Thailand, Laos and Myanmar.

Meanwhile, The Golden Crescent is the name given to one of the two main areas of illegal opium production in Asia. The region is located at the crossroads of Central, South, and West Asia encompassing the mountainous fringes of Afghanistan and Pakistan that stretch to the east of Iran.
