Rachel Hazes and former business partner Marieke van Beek have not come to a solution in the lawsuit between them. The court must therefore rule. Van Beek rents a house from Hazes in Vinkeveen and is said to have a rent debt.
According to Van Beek spokesperson Bernard Tomlow, Hazes claims that her former business partner has not paid the rent for fifteen months. This would have been five years ago.
Hazes has previously tried to have the lease terminated. That request was rejected by the court in October 2020.
On February 15, the parties faced each other in the court of Arnhem-Leeuwarden. The court gave both parties until Tuesday to come to an agreement. “The parties have reported that no solution has been reached and have asked the court to rule. That means that the court will rule,” says a spokesperson.
The verdict will follow on Tuesday 21 March.
Hazes also claims that Van Beek abused her
Hazes and Van Beek are also involved in another case. Hazes wants to hear from Van Beek, former business partner Rob Israël and her daughter Roxeanne Hazes about a power of attorney she provided when she had a breakdown in 2016.
Hazes appointed Van Beek, Israel and Roxeanne as plenipotentiaries. According to lawyer Royce de Vries, who also represents Rachel in this case, the three “abused” that power of attorney and they “enriched themselves”, he said in April last year.
The court in Amsterdam ruled in October last year that Hazes may only hear the three attorneys about an invoice for a coaching program of 24,000 euros.
Hazes has appealed in that case. She wants to hear from Van Beek, Israel and her daughter about more matters. An oral hearing of this will take place on 6 September at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal.
