The demonstrations of 8M in Spain

This Wednesday Women’s Day is celebrated, with numerous calls and marches. These are the main manifestations of 8M in Spain.

Two marches have been called in Madrid. One of them is the one organized by the 8M Commission, related to Podemos, which will travel the route between Atocha and Plaza de España. It will be from 7:00 p.m.

The other, convened by the Feminist Movement of Madrid, will also leave Atocha at 6:30 p.m. towards the Plaza de las Provincias.

The particularity of this march is that it will request the resignation of Irene Montero, Minister of Equality, and the disapproval of Pedro Sánchez, President of the Government.

They do it for “botch jobs” such as the ‘only yes is yes’ law and the Trans Law, which erases women.

For its part, the Student Union calls for a “feminist student strike”, with a demonstration in the capital at Puerta del Sol. It will be at 12:00.

Catalonia

In addition, in Catalonia there are seven 8M demonstrations called, at least one in each of the provincial capitals.

Thus, two mobilizations will take place in Barcelona, ​​one of them, of the Student Union in the Plaza de la Universidad at 12:00.

Another, convened by the Assemblea 8M, at 18:30 that will also start from the Plaza de la Universidad.

Tarragona will also be the scene of two other mobilizations, that of the Student Union and that of the Camp 8M Platform. Both will be in Plaza Imperial Tarraco and at the same time, 12:00.

For its part, the Coordinadora de Feminismos anticapitalistas has called an act in Plaza 1 de Octubre in Girona at 6:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, in Lleida, the one of the Assemblea 8M at 18:00 in the Plaza Ricard Vinyes. In turn, the 8M Coordinator of Lleida has called a mobilization at 6:30 p.m. in Plaza 8 de Marzo.

8M demonstrations in Valencia

Likewise, the Student Union calls mobilizations in various points of the Valencian Community, all at 12:00.

Specifically, in Valencia, at the Faculty of History on the Blasco Ibáñez campus of the University of Valencia. Likewise, in Alicante, on the Jorge Juan stairs, while in Elche it will be in the Plaza de las Chimeneas. In Castellón, in the Plaza de la Independencia (La Farola).

Likewise, in the Plaza del Carmen in Granada; Square of the Nuns of Huelva; Plaza de las Tendillas in Córdoba; and Puerta Purchena of Almería.

That said, the Seville capital will host two 8M demonstrations, the first being that of the Unitary Feminist Assembly at 6:30 p.m. in the Pelli Tower.

Demonstrations of the 8M in Galicia

For its part, Galicia will host numerous demonstrations, from A Coruña, passing through Vigo, Ferrol, Pontevedra, Lugo, Ourense or Santiago de Compostela.

As in other points, the Student Union has called concentrations in the Coruña Obelisk and the Vigo Urzáiz Street Light. Also in the Xunta Building in Ferrol.

Apart from these mobilizations, the 8M demonstrations will take place at the Obelisk of A Coruña, convened by the Galician Feminist Platform and the Marcha Mundial das Mulleres.

Similarly, Unitary Feminism of Vigo has called a concentration in the Plaza de los Caballos at 20:00.

For its part, the Marcha Mundial das Mulleres platform will leave from Amada García Square also at 20:00.

Meanwhile, the same platform and at the same time will demonstrate in the Plaza de Ourense in the capital of Pontevedra.

Also, in the Xunta de Lugo Building (same time) and in the Government Sub-delegation in Orense.

To put an end to the Galician 8M demonstrations, in the capital of Galicia two demonstrations coincide in the Praza 8 de marzo.

At 7:00 p.m., the one called by the Galician Feminist Platform and an hour later, the one of the Marcha Mundial das Mulleres. Both will end in the Praza del Obradoiro.

Ceuta, Melilla, Asturias, Murcia, Cantabria and Extremadura

In the Autonomous Cities there are two mobilizations called. The 8M Ceuta Commission / Feminist Platform of Ceuta at 7:30 p.m. in the Plaza de la Constitución of Ceuta.

Meanwhile, Melilla Feminista, at 5:30 p.m. in the Plaza Comandante Benitez.

In the same way as in other cities, the Student Union will be concentrated in the Plaza del Pachís in Gijón and in the Plaza de la Escandalera in Oviedo.

Marches in Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León

Demonstrations of the 8M in the Basque Country, Aragon, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands

The Student Union rallies will take place in the Plaza de Arriaga in Bilbao, the Boulevard in San Sebastián and in the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca in Álava. Also, in the Plaza de San Francisco in Zaragoza.
