…Inal Ardzinba, the “foreign minister” of the self-proclaimed republic of Abkhazia, wants Georgia to recognize the sovereignty of Abkhazia.
According to information obtained by SIA, he said this on the air of “Solovyov Live” TV channel.
“…We participate in the international Geneva discussions, this is the only international format in which Abkhazia is represented so far. We act as a single team with Russia and South Ossetia. Unfortunately, due to the current international geopolitical situation, we are experiencing stagnation at the Geneva discussion platform, but we hope that we will achieve the main result at this platform – the signing of an agreement that is binding for both parties. If he signs an agreement on non-use of force with Georgia, this is a way out for Georgia to recognize the state sovereignty of the Republic of Abkhazia. After all, Westerners still consider us separatists.”
Ardzinba said this and added that the Russian Federation is the main strategic partner of Abkhazia.
“We have comprehensive cooperation, it affects all areas of our life – it is defense, security, economy. The Russian Federation is implementing an investment program to help the socio-economic development of Abkhazia,” he said.
By the way, Ardzinba said that the Middle East is one of the main priorities of Abkhazia’s foreign policy.
