[인포스탁데일리=김영택 기자] Apple’s mobile payment service, Apple Pay, is scheduled to launch domestic services in the third week of this month.
Apple Pay received approval from the Financial Services Commission for domestic launch last month.
When Apple Pay is introduced, payments can be made through Apple mobile devices such as iPhones and Apple Watches without a physical card or separate authentication.
When Apple Pay is released, any Hyundai Card user can register and use the card on Apple Pay.
For the time being, it can only be used with Hyundai Card.
Actual payment is possible only at places equipped with an NFC (Near Field Communication) terminal required for Apple Pay payment.
Hyundai Card has been concentrating its efforts on expanding the supply of terminals since the Financial Services Commission’s approval was lost last month.
As the release of Apple Pay is imminent, Samsung Pay and Naver Pay, which have formed a simple payment alliance in response, are also busy.
Both companies plan to launch interlocking services at the end of this month.
Previously, Samsung Pay and Naver Pay decided to link each other’s payment services at online and offline merchants to be compatible.
