Incredible transformation for a salvaged Volvo. The car looks very good

An over 30-year-old Volvo saved from scrapping has undergone a major transformation. Even after sitting for years, the car still looks great.

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Volvo? Safety, reliability? Maybe even the famous station wagons of yesteryear. One such specimen was saved from scrapping by the team behind the WD Detailing YouTube channel.

Car detailing vloggers found a 1990 Volvo 740 and bought it from the car yard before it was scrapped. The car was kept under a tarp, but it was very dirty, even so. However, there are no obvious rust marks on the bodywork. According to the videothe car was last used in 2011 and appears to have been very well maintained over the years.

Radical transformation for a 30-year-old Volvo

After 12 years of sitting under a tarp, the car got its first wash, and the results were pretty good. A straight body was hidden under the thick layer of mud, and the paintwork was restored to its former luster with the help of a polish. They also took care of refurbishing the aging plastics and alloy wheels, which have held up surprisingly well.

Inside, the car has been thoroughly cleaned as well. The carpet was vacuumed, the plastic surfaces were cleaned and degreased, and the leather seats and bench were steam cleaned.

Before trying to start the car, the engine compartment was cleaned of the dirt accumulated over time. After a few tries and some spray sprayed into the intake, the car’s engine started. The transformation is a major one, and the car looks very good, even if it has been exposed to the elements for years.
