The President of the Togolese Republic, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé has been making an official visit to Kampala in Uganda since Friday March 03, 2023. It is at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
This trip by the Head of State is part of the strengthening of the partnership between the two countries. The President of the Republic and his counterpart
Ugandans will have talks during which they will review ways to strengthen these cooperation ties between Lomé and Kampala, particularly in the economic, business, planning, transport,
agriculture and tourism.
This visit will also be an opportunity to share experiences in these different areas. The two leaders will also discuss topics related to continental integration, peacebuilding and the fight against security threats and climate change in Africa.
The Ugandan President was in Lomé in January 2020, as part of the summit of heads of state and government on counterfeit medicines after a visit by the Togolese head of state to Kampala in November 2011 marked by a cooperation agreement in the tourism sector.
