Ukrainian units differ significantly in level of training
Over the past few months, the Russian military has routed the most trained units of Ukraine’s armed forces in the Bakhmut region, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing Ukrainian officers.
“Officers in some other brigades say several units, including some of the most prepared, have been routed during the fighting in the Bakhmut area in recent months,” the publication noted.
According to the Ukrainian officers, the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located near the city differ significantly in their level of training and cannot always interact normally with each other.
One of the Ukrainian commanders claimed that his positions were overrun because a nearby battalion of poorly trained volunteers left the deployment site without warning.
