That was a little over a year ago. On January 25, 2022, as he was about to start a tour for his 60th birthday, singer Florent Pagny announced on social networks that he had an “unsympathetic” cancerous tumor – hear, inoperable – at the lungs. “I will go into a six-month protocol with chemo and radiation,” he explained then. This Sunday, in the TF1 program “Sept à Huit”, the singer confided that his fight against cancer was not over.
“This is not the scenario we hoped for,” explains Florent Pagny. While in remission in November 2022 after battling a tumor the size of a “kiwi”, the singer made the decision to interrupt the immunotherapy he was following to rest in Patagonia. But in January, a “huge coughing fit” worries him and pushes him to go to Buenos Aires to take exams. “The images aren’t terrible, so in three days I’m going back to Paris to see what’s going on,” he explains during this interview. And to specify: “There is a lymph node which has fixed, which means that there is a risk of metastasis. »
Shortly after the last interview, the singer therefore returned to France in order to do additional examinations and in particular a biopsy. “Maybe if I had been in France [et non en Patagonie], I would not have this ganglion which appears like that, if I had followed the program. It’s kind of my fault. He must now resume his treatment interrupted in November.
