George Russell said after the race that Red Bull can win every race this year. Toto Wolff wasn’t much more optimistic… quite the opposite.
Hamilton finished fifth in the race, 51 seconds behind Verstappen. Russell finished seventh behind Lance Stroll.
“It was one of our worst racing days. It was not good at all, we lack pace up front, on the right and in the middle,” Wolff told the media.
“Aston Martin cars are very fast and Red Bull is just on another planet. It hurts me that they are so far ahead – it reminds me of our best years when we were second to everyone else.”
“It’s a reference. We have to take a step forward to come back, but nobody on this team is throwing in the towel. We must dig deep, deeper than ever before. And we can do it.”
