The American author, Marianne Williamsonin a speech in Washington, formally announced his candidacy for the Democratic Party in the 2024 presidential election.
Saying that the country is currently struggling with many difficulties, Williamson criticized the current economic order, the healthcare system and the current status quo in Washington.
“I feel like my forty years of being around the trauma of so many thousands of people give me a unique perspective on what it takes to help fix America,” he said on his website.
Williamson is the first Democrat to officially announce a 2024 presidential run.
