Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Chinese President Xi Jinping is now said to be preparing for war. This was confirmed by an analyst, who appeared on Russian state television, recently.

Xi is said to be preparing for war against the West. To quote Newsweekit was also published by Russia Media Monitor, a group that reports news, in state publications.

The Chinese expert was named Nikola Vaviloc. He alluded to Beijing and Washington’s always hostile relationship.

He said Xi had been preparing for war since taking office more than a decade ago. Please note Xi became President of China March 14, 2013.

“Since coming to power, comrade Xi has been preparing for war,” Vavilov said, quoted Monday (6/3/2023).

“He gave the order to prepare troops capable of winning the war. Xi Jinping has no doubts about the plans of the Americans,” he stressed.

In fact, the possibility of war between the US and China is a consistent concern. This continues to escalate for defense and foreign policy officials.

Earlier this week, Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth also confirmed it. He warned that a conflict with China would seriously endanger the “homeland of the United States of America”.

“Because of kinetic attacks and non-kinetic attacks, whether it’s cyber attacks on power grids or pipelines,” he added.

Meanwhile, quoting CNBC International, China’s Ministry of Finance confirmed it would increase defense spending this year by 7.2% to 1.56 trillion yuan (Rp 3,436.2 trillion), Sunday. China’s defense budget grew 7.1% last year to 1.45 trillion yuan.

According to official data, this is faster than the 6.8% increase in 2021 and the 6.6% increase in 2020. In 2019, China’s defense spending rose 7.5% to 1.19 trillion yuan.

However, the report did not mention war with the US. But rather “firm steps against Taiwan independence'” while sticking to Beijing’s call for “peaceful reunification”.

Taiwan is a self-governing island that is democratically governed but claimed by Beijing as part of its territory. It should be noted that the US is Taiwan’s main supporter.

Still quoting CNBC Internationalthe US government in December authorized more than US$800 billion in defense spending for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023. As well as domestic inflation, it also addressed the need to counter China’s and Russia’s military capabilities.

“That is much higher than in previous years,” the media wrote.

according to data from the Ministry of Finance. In fiscal 2022, the US spent US$767 billion or 12% of its budget on national defense. That’s about 2% more than the US$755 billion spent in 2021.
