The Amicale laïque de Condom welcomed a new moment of intergenerational sharing and complicity. Everyone asks for more.
“The Périssère leisure center (1) is first and foremost a place for socializing through community life for children aged 3 to 14. Then, in addition to this “youth” mission and according to our educational project, intergenerational meetings are part of our activities. We participate in the education of our future citizens”. The educational team and the volunteer leaders of the Amicale laïque de Condom (ALC) thus explain the reason for the 4th “multi-generation Wednesday” with the residents of the geriatric center of the Condom hospital (PGHC) and the accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people (Ehpad) in Ténarèze (2).
There had previously been a first common afternoon in January, at Périssère, in February, a lotto at the Ténarèze nursing home, then the celebration of Candlemas at the hospital.
This time, early learning activities were offered: traditional wooden games, make-up, jewelry making, salt dough, drawings. Guaranteed success with the fifteen or so elderly people.
A 5th meeting in April
“They and they appreciated it a lot”, testifies Typhaine Guilmain, animator at the Ehpad de la Ténarèze. “Through the games, there was sharing between the children and our residents. It’s important for everyone. This kind of afternoon is very positive. We once again really enjoyed this time spent together “.
For her part, Florence Harté, facilitator at the PGHC, testified in the same spirit of openness: “We will see everyone’s eyes sparkle. Thanks to this moment of exchanges and mutual aid with young people, our elders made a return to childhood. The game of “turning everything upside down” was very popular. In addition, links were created”.
Young and old have already set a 5th meeting, in April, for Easter and an egg hunt.
