OGYÉI launches a six-month campaign to promote water consumption – Dunakanyar Region

To support adequate hydration and a healthy lifestyle, the Public Health Product Tax (NETA) Program Office of the National Pharmaceutical and Food Health Institute (OGYÉI) will once again announce its Aqua Challenge campaign promoting water consumption from March, the organizers informed MTI.

According to the announcement, the primary goal of the campaign, launched in 2020 and announced for the third time, is for as many people as possible to experience the beneficial physiological effects of regular and abundant water consumption and – along with reducing the consumption of syrups and soft drinks – reducing sugar intake.
They indicated that drinking enough water not only contributes to the functioning of the muscles and the heart, and to the maintenance of mental and physical performance, but also improves the elasticity of the skin and hair, supports digestion, disease prevention and faster recovery, and also helps achieving and maintaining an ideal body weight.
They pointed out that if we drink the same amount of water instead of 1.5 liters of sugary soft drinks every day for a month, we take in almost 20,000 fewer calories.
This is why OGYÉI decided not to limit the challenge to 30 days and exclusively online, but to extend the trial until the end of August, in the framework of which, among other things, it awaits those interested with a flash mob, posted water drinking points, and presentations at events.
The initiative can be joined at any time during the campaign, for any length of time, they added.
