Jakarta, CNNIndonesia —
Chairman of the NasDem Party Solar Paloh said it would be very good if his party’s presidential candidate, Anies Baswedan continue the policies of the government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“The problem was only if Bung Anies was elected, whether to continue policy policies that the government has implemented at this time?” said Paloh after meeting the general chairman of the Gerindra Party at Prabowo Subianto Hambalang, Sunday (5/3).
“Of course if it can be continued that would be very good. What, why not continue?” he said.
Paloh does not want the construction that has been carried out at this time to stop. He did not deny that there were things that needed improvement.
“There is no perfection in all that we have gone through together. There have been efforts to improve, but continuing I think it is a very, very rational thing,” he said.
He reiterated that he absolutely did not want development in Indonesia to stop because of a change in leadership.
“No one wants to be like that except for those who maybe think with interests that don’t see a long-term strategy and bigger interests,” he said.
Previously, Anies opened his voice about continuing the current government’s policies if elected president. One of them is related to the Nusantara National Capital (IKN) project.
“The IKN has become a law. And when all of us are sworn in, whatever our duties, we swear to implement the law,” Anies said at the Democratic DPP Office, Thursday (2/3).
Anies said the current condition of the IKN was different from two years ago. He said that the IKN had now been legalized in the form of a law. While two years ago, he continued, it was still in the idea phase.
“At that time it was still an idea. So we are still talking about the pros and cons. If this is a law, whoever must implement the law,” he said.
